No time

My apologize for such a short post today. I'm really getting busy with homework, track and work lately. So I probably won't be posting as often or as much. Once track is over I might be able to post more. So you'll just have to bear with me.

More on the story

All right. It still doesn't have a name, so I'm going to let that brainstorm settle for a while. Now you can turn your attention to the story that I've been meaning to post all along. It's called One Sky, New Sky, Green Eye, Blue Eye. Here's the prologue. It's kind of late, so I'm not posting much.
When I was born, my grandma predicted that I would have a great power like never seen before, and that one day I would use this power to save us.
I wonder about her sometimes.
She died when I was two, and I never really knew her. My mum and dad say she was going a bit bonkers when she died. But the again, that's how most physics die. Absolutely bonkers.
Mum says that she can sometimes see Grandma, but not enough to speak to her. Mum's the lucky one. She has spirit seeing. So she can see almost anyone who has past away. As long as the spirit's in hearing range, if she wants, she can talk with them. But Grandma seems to stay away a lot.
Dad's a wizard on languages. He says he wishes he had Mum's talent so he could understand more languages. Not like he already doesn't know a thousand anyway.
Royan says as soon as he gets his degree in languages, he's gonna explore the world. Doing what Dad had always wanted to, but never did.
I don't know about me though... If Grandma was right about me having powers, I'm guessing it has something to do with my eyes. I-

"Amberlynn!"
The pencil dropped from my hand in surprise, "What?"
"Come on! What are you doing that's taking so long?"
I hurried to put the journal back in it's hiding spot, while at the same time gathering my books.

Well, I guess I need to stop for now. I'll continue with Chapter one later.

Stuff

Okey, so I was going to start posting parts of one of my stories that I'm writing, but I had a brain storm and I need some feedback on it. This is something that a wrote recently and I have no idea where it will go, or what going on. Personally, I think that it'll just go where it wants, and I'll just follow along. So here it is, and if you have any title suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

Sunshine came through the blinds like liquid gold, giving my apricot room that glow I loved so much. My eyes, still filled with sleep were blinking slowly, adjusting for the day.
I eventually sat up. My bedsheets were clumped up at the end of my bed, and it was cold. I sat for a bit on the edge of my bed, thinking about my funny dream.
I had been walking through someplace dark, and quiet. I could here little scamperings about, but nothing disturbing.
Then suddenly, it was light. And I could see that it was a forest. I flexed my ear muscle impulsively, then realized that humans don't flick their ears in surprise.
"What in the heck am I then?"
I heard a low, deep growl. Then I woke up.
'So strange...' I thought, getting up and starting my morning routine. Wash, dress, last minute studies if there were exams. Then off to first.
It was weird being in all advanced magiks. Instead of the usual group of dumb, and partially smart kids, everyone was just as, or even smarted than me.
I rubbed my new ring on my sleeve. It had an annoying smudge from me running my thumb across it out of habit.
'I really should stop that.'
I thought, 'one day I'll wear all the way through it.'
"Jon!"
I turned to a familiar voice. David caught up with me, Zach right behind.
"How ya doing taday boys?" I asked.
David shrugged, "Not too bad. I've got that Adv. Potions III quiz that I haven't quite prepared for. But nothing else really horrible."
Zach scoffed, " Why didn't you ask Jon to help you study? He's the potion expert."
David shrugged again, "I dunno. Did you ever think that maybe I purposely. Did. Not. Study?"
I grinned and got between them, "Okay fellas. There's enough campus to go around. Why don't you save the fights for 'Combats'?"
Zach grinned, "Yeah! A competition!"
David's eyed flared, showing that he didn't even have to say what he was thinking.
I cleared my throat, "Ahum. So, what are the bets today?"
David took a timeout from staring down Zach and answered, "I'm on Ginny for 5."
Zach smirked, "Huh, I'll take that. Jon, put me down for 5 on Margo."
I pulled out a recording paper and pressed my ring in the designated spot.
"Zach, 5 on Margo. David apposing, 5 on Ginny."
The paper responded, tallying these to the rest of the bets.
Zach glanced over my shoulder and looked, "Hey! you got a new one! Lemme see!"
David came over to see it too.
I held out my hand so they could see my new ring.
It was simple and elegant, like all the rings that came from Gryggs and Troy. A sturdy band of steel and gold gilding. The swirls on the band were organic and eye catching, and the small emerald was cut to sparkling perfection.
"What happened to your other one?" David asked.
"It started shorting out because I almost rubbed a spot on it to the core."
Zach started laughing, "So how much did that set you back, smart one.?"
I sighed and mumbled, "650."
David started laughing too, "Oh, ha ha ha ha. Jon, ha ha, you need to start breaking some of your habits! Ha ha ha!"
I grumbled, hands now in my pockets.
David stopped for a bit, "Hey Jon," He said grinning.
I turned my head to see where he was looking, "Here they come." I said.
Margo Lords and Ginny Carrol were both very smart, successful, and attractive girls on campus. They were also best friends for never. That's right, enemies.
So it was almost guaranteed that everyday, they would fight. Whether it was with words, or fists, they fought.
David and Zach liked to try guessing who would be the first to start attacking. And like everything else they did, they turned that into gambling.
Whew, my hands are tired! So, what do you think?
